Nana Ama Browne Klutse has been promoted to Associate Professor at the University of Ghana just two years after she became a professor. She has really proven to achieve so much while raising her 3 children on her own.
Growing up, Nana said she had been exposed to a community where teenage pregnancy was very prevalent. But she did not allow that to influence her, instead, she decided to take a different path.After finishing her secondary education, she went to the University of Cape Coast in Ghana where she earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She pursued her Ph.D. in Climatology at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
Since then, Nana had a promising career. She managed the Remote Sensing and Climate Centre and served as a senior research scientist at the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission from 2016 to 2018. She is also a member of the Scientific Board of the International Basic Sciences Programme of UNESCO.
Moreover, she co-investigated a number of research projects regarding climate and even served as a principal investigator for some. She has also been cited in dozens of academic articles related to climate change.
At the same time, she was also working at the Department of Physics at the University of Ghana. She rapidly rose to the ranks from where she started as a lecturer to senior lecturer, professor, and most recently an associate professor.
Truly, Nana's hard work has paid off as she was able to build her first house when she was just 27-years old. Now, she has 3 houses under her name.
