In the world of sports, it's not uncommon to find athletes who follow in their parent's shoes. Ken Griffey Jr. made a name for himself in the MLB even while his father was still in the league. Clay Matthews III is, in fact, the third Clay Matthews to play in the NFL. But now it's time to welcome a new member to the list: Shelomi Sanders.
At 18-years old, Shelomi, daughter of Deion Sanders, threw her hat into the ring after publicly declaring that she will be playing women's basketball at Jackson State University. As most sports fans know, Deion Sanders is not only a former player for the Atlanta Braves but a football legend and Hall of Famer.
During his time in the NFL, Deion Sanders won at the Super Bowl once with the San Francisco 49ers and a second time with the Dallas Cowboys. This achievement now inspires Deion's daughter Shelomi to put her skills to the test in college basketball.
Even at the age of 18, Shelomi claims to be "committed" to JSU and will prove to be a great asset to both the team and the college. Deion expresses his support in a public message on social media, stating: "GOD is Good! My young daughter...has committed to play basketball for the Back 2 Back Swac Champions (JSU Tigers)!"
